If you’re in the local beer community, you’ve probably been hearing about fresh hops for the last month or so. Even though we’re nearing the end of this season’s fresh hop beers, you can still find some around town.
Tap List beer enthusiast Cassie Niemeyer dropped by to sample some local beers made with Kansas Hop Co.’s fresh hops. Watch the attached video to learn the difference between the typical IPA and two local IPAs brewed with fresh hops, also known as wet hops.
Here’s the lineup:
- Lagunitas’ IPA (6.2%): Dry hopped with Cascade, Centennial, Chinook and a little bit of Simcoe hops.
- Fields & Ivy Brewery’s ‘55 Stepside IPA (7.1%): Fresh hopped with Kansas Hop Co. Kanook and dry hopped with Cascade from Kansas Hop Co.
- Transparent Brewing Co.’s Victory Sweater Wet Hop IPA (6.7%): Fresh hopped with Triumph and Cashmere from Kansas Hop Co.
