BBQ Bonanza RESIZED

Vote Now in Flatland’s 2020 BBQ Bonanza Bracket

September 18, 2020  |    |  2 min read

The American Royal World Series of Barbecue has been cancelled due to the pandemic, eliminating one of Kansas City’s largest annual events. While this does not replace it, your friends at Flatland are offering foodies a fun alternative voting on a bracket to see which joint is Kansas City’s current favorite.

To create the bracket, we selected the 64 barbecue restaurants nearest to City Hall in Kansas City, Missouri.

This is similar to the Hops Hysteria bracket challenge we did in March, when March Madness was cancelled. At that time, KC Bier Co.’s Dunkel was chosen by voters as their favorite local beer.

This time around we’ve simplified the process by eliminating the predictive bracket and going straight to voting rounds. But don’t fret, friends of Flatland, there will still be a winner!

We will select a random winner who votes on each of the six rounds, and provide you with a Flatland swag pack and a barbecue dinner for four from any of these fabulous barbecue restaurants, which we will personally deliver to you.

The first round of voting begins now and will end at 11:59 p.m. on Sunday. Subsequent rounds will begin at 9 a.m. on Monday, Wednesday and Friday until the end of September. We will announce Kansas City’s BBQ Bonanza Bracket champion on Friday, Oct. 2.

Happy voting! Don’t forget to submit your email to be eligible to win and for your vote to count!

Remember, voting rounds start at 9 a.m. on the following dates:

Friday, Sep. 18: 1st Round Voting Begins

Monday, Sep. 21: 2nd Round Voting Begins

Wednesday, Sep. 23: Sweet 16 Voting Begins

Friday, Sep. 25: Elite 8 Voting Begins

Monday, Sep. 28: Final Four Voting Begins

Wednesday, Sep. 30: Championship Voting Begins

Friday, Oct. 2: Winner is Announced
