The summer months are well behind us, which means that seasonal beers will soon fill our bellies with holiday satisfaction. Ahh, yes. Very soon, gravy boats will whisk us away to the land of mashed potatoes, stuffing and turkey. No eggnog for me, grandma. I’ll have another milk stout with an extra side of turkey. Hold the yams.
To ring in the holidays, Lawrence Beer Co., 826 Pennsylvania St., will be hosting a brewery tour and tasting Oct. 27.

The Walnut River Brewing Co. in El Dorado, Kansas, is offering up Warbeard, a flavor-packed, malty Irish Red (5.5% ABV, 24 IBU) with hints of dark chocolate and walnuts.
West Bottoms stalwart Stockyards Brewing Co.’s Stocktoberfest is a golden yellow German Marzen (5.6% ABV, 26 IBU) with a medium body and notes of syrup and honey. A solid choice for your Oktoberfest extravaganza.
Boulevard Brewing Co.’s Two Jokers is a Belgian witbier packing a delightful punch (8% ABV, 15 IBU). It’s sour, it’s limey, it’s delicious.
Martin City Brewing Co.’s Belgian Style Blond is smooth Belgian beer, with bold, sweet notes on the front end followed by wheat notes on the finish. This beer (5.9% ABV, 27 IBU) is perfect for bidding farewell to the summer.
Speaking of bidding farewell to summer, Springfield-based Mother’s Brewing Co.’s Materfamilias (11% ABV, 0 IBU) is apropos for ringing in the fall. This Imperial Stout is a sweet, chocolatey salute to the winter months ahead.

On Thursday, Bier Station, 120 E. Gregory Blvd. in Kansas City, will be hosting the “4th Annual Cookies and Beer” food pairing event. Get your tickets and try up to three cookie and beer pairings curated by Kansas City’s own Jonathan Bender.
Do you like your beer with a side of comedy? You do? Then head over to Casual Animal Brewing Co., 1725 McGee St. in Kansas City, for an evening of comedy and delicious beer.
Sunday, Oct. 27
Drink beer and support breast cancer patients on Sunday by heading over to Henry T’s in Lawrence, Kansas. Buy a $25 Henry T’s glass and local drink beers from Lawrence Beer Co., Yankee Tank Brewing, 23rd Street Brewery, Black Stag Brewery and Fields and Ivy Brewery. Proceeds will go toward Lawrence Memorial Hospital to support breast cancer patients.
Boulevard Brewing Co. will also be hosting Beer Hall Bingo this Sunday. Enjoy some delicious Boulevard brews while playing bingo!
