Tap List | Get A Champ Stamp To Kick Off Chiefs Season

Okay, so you don’t have to get an actual “Champ Stamp,” but you can drink one this Saturday at Crane Brewing Co.

If you have been living in a hole, let me fill you in. A guy named David Leach from Raytown, Missouri, got a “champ stamp” you know where after losing a bet about the Kansas City Chiefs ever getting a franchise quarterback. You see, Patrick Mahomes showed up.

Leach and his band Dirty Machine teamed up with appropriately located Crane Brewing Co. to release the beer. The light kolsch will be released to the public on Saturday, just in time for the Chiefs first regular season game on Sunday.

Cinder Block Brewery released Kommon Culture (5.8%), an Australian pale sparkling lager brewed with 50 pounds of honey from Tonganoxie, Kansas,  and Australian hops, in collaboration with Green Room, East Forty and Sandhills Brewing.

Martin City Brewing Co. teamed up with Strange Days, Red Crow and Border Brewing Co. to create Keepin It Classy (4.8%), a patersbier made with Kveik yeast, lemon and lime. 

Stockyards Brewing Co. released Killa Comb (5.8%), a tart honey ale with Kveik yeast, blossom honey and raspberry in collaboration with Transport Brewery, Diametric and Crane Brewing Co.

Double Shift Brewing Co. made a Kansas City Common (4.7%) that features KCBC House Lager yeast, German Amarillo and Callista hops in collaboration with City Barrel Brewing, Brewery Emperial and KC Bier Co. 

Torn Label Brewing Co. now has Karma Chameleon (5%), a dry-hopped witbier with berries, lemon peel and coriander on tap and in cans from the Draught Lottery, in collaboration with BKS Artisan Ales, Big Rip and Casual Animal Brewing Co.

Tuesday, Sept. 3

Transport Brewery hosts Theology on Tap every first Tuesday of the month from 6:30-9:30 p.m. for young adults who want to discuss theological topics. 

Sample all the seasonal beer possible at Hy-Vee’s Inaugural Oktoberfest Beer Club on Rice Road in Lee’s Summit from 6:30-9:30 p.m. A $10 ticket includes samples of the beer, a lesson on its history, and bratwursts and pretzels. 

Wednesday, Sept. 4

Bier Station and Boulevard Brewing Co. are collaborating with a fundraiser night from 5-8 p.m. for Turn the Page KC, which is a push by former Mayor Sly James to have kids from Kansas City reading at grade level by third grade. The proceeds will go toward an art installation that includes a lending library for kids by local artist Jeff Beith. It will be installed on the west side of Bier Station’s parking lot next to their garden. 

Thursday, Sept. 5

Are you a homebrewer and want more people to try your beer? Register for the 2nd annual Dogg Dayzzz Homebrew Competition at Crane Brewing Co., hosted by Lee’s Summit’s very own ZZ Hops Homebrewing Club. All beer styles can compete and registration is still open if you would like to enter your beer. The competition will be held from 7-10 p.m. on Thursday and Friday, and all day Saturday.

Friday, Sept. 6

The Dogg Dayzzz Homebrew Competition continues at Crane Brewing Co. from 7-10 p.m.

Saturday, Sept. 7

Drink and be educated! Try Belgian beers from award-winning homebrewers, Duvel and Boulevard Brewing Co. at Grains to Glass for their Picnique Belgique event from 5-9 p.m. Boulevard’s microbiologist, Keke Gibb, will be talking about yeast development, Brettanomyces, and the flavors of Belgian yeast. Homebrewers will  compete to see who has the best Belgian beer, and there will be a Belgian-inspired menu to go with your drinks. Tickets are available here. 

The last day of the Dogg Dayzzz Homebrew Competition at Crane Brewing Co. is from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m.

Sunday, Sept. 8

This one is for all the moms out there. Servaes Brewing Co. and fabMama KC are hosting a bootcamp every Sunday in September at 10 a.m at the brewery. This event will help you get stronger and tone up and is specifically designed for postpartum mothers. You must purchase tickets before the event if you want to attend for attendance purposes. Bring your yoga mats and water!
