If you like pies, try The Upper Crust pie bakery.
Sisters Jan Knobel and and Elaine VanBuskirk have been baking some of the area’s best pies since 2005, drawing on warm memories from their youth of baking pies with their grandmother and mother.
“We want to share that type of experience we had growing up,” Knobel says.
Today, their shop at 7943 Santa Fe Drive in downtown Overland Park bakes between 500 and 600 pies a week. Their pies make a succulent complement for family gatherings this holiday season.
