Tap List | Pumpkin Ales for Thanksgiving (Taste Test)
November 24, 2021 | Emily Woodring | 1 min read
Pumpkin ales for Thanksgiving? Yeah, we said it. Some would call it the perfect pairing, being able to add a little sweetness to your main course and serve as a perfect match for whatever dessert you may have. Most pumpkin ales are medium bodied, and just enough to warm you up, but not too heavy to slow you down.
We asked Cassie Niemeyer, our local beer enthusiast, to blind taste test a national option and two local beers. Each of these pumpkin ales follows the traditional style, but brings their own flair. There are quite a few pumpkin ales available, so we narrowed the field by focusing on two made with local pumpkins.
Watch the attached video to see which beer Cassie thinks is best to have this Thanksgiving!
Pumpkin ales that are featured in this Tap List:
- Elysian Brewing Co.’s Night Owl (6.7%)
- East Forty Brewing’s Colonial Pumpkin Ale (6.6%)
- 3Halves Brewing Co.’s Oh Gourd, We Did it! (6.3%)
Happy Thanksgiving, friends of Flatland! We are thankful for you.
