Tap List | Emo, Beer and Leonardo DiCaprio

December 1, 2020  |  Marco Camacho  |  4 min read

Growing up in the aughts, the halls of my high school were adorned with super skinny jeans, jet black hair, extra-small band t-shirts, and the shrieking howls of emo vocalists blaring through a first generation iPod.

Even I succumbed to skinny jeans. In fact, I still remember the first beer I ever tried, an ice-cold Heineken. The band American Football was playing in the background and I was the king of the world. Eat your heart out, Leonardo DiCaprio.

But it’s 2020, and things change. I haven’t tried Heineken in almost a decade and I’ve said farewell to skinny jeans. Well… sort of.

If you’re like me, and aren’t quite ready to let go of your super skinny jeans, consider heading over to Border Brewing Co., 406 E. 18th St., this Friday at 5 p.m. for Emo Night! And guess what? You’re the DJ! All you have to do is download the Rockbot app on your phone, request your favorite emo songs from back in the day, and wait for the votes to pour in from local emo and beer enthusiasts.
