Drinking beer is easy. Tap List beer enthusiast Cassie Niemeyer believes really tasting it is a whole other matter.
This week, in her inimitable style, Niemeyer guides you through how to thoroughly enjoy three different types of local beers — an IPA, a Belgian-style abbey and a barley wine. All you need is your eyes, nose, taste buds and a palette-cleansing glass of water to learn tasting basics.
You don’t have to be snooty to really appreciate good beer, Niemeyer says. All you have to do is slow down and enjoy all the sensory pleasures beer has to offer.
“Beer tasting should be fun,” Niemeyer says. “It doesn’t have to be a serious thing.”
Amen to that. To learn — and enjoy — more, just watch the attached video.
Cheers!
