Some may think non-alcoholic craft beers are a passing fad. But they’re probably here to stay.
In the beer world, there are already two new craft breweries that are brewing only “non-alcoholic” beer, which is defined as beer with 0.5% ABV or less, not always 0.0%. Put simply, it would take a lot of very fast chugging to catch even a hint of a buzz on any of these beers.
So, what’s the reason for the growth in craft non-alcoholic beers? Many sources cite athletes and millennials who are looking for good tasting non-alcoholic options for health reasons.
Since Flatland beer enthusiast Cassie Niemeyer loves a good IPA, we asked her to taste test three non-alcoholic IPAs that can be found in Kansas City area liquor stores. She never tasted any of these before filming.
Here are the competitors:
Athletic Brewing Co. – Run Wild IPA (0.4%)
WellBeing Brewing – Intentional IPA (0.3%)
Brewdog – Hazy AF (0.5%)
Watch the attached video to see which one tickled Niemeyer’s taste buds the most.
