Devoured Pizza, which began during the Covid pandemic as a backyard operation for friends and family, plans to open a permanent space in Martini Corner within the next six months.

Devoured plans to open a 20-seat place in the same building that houses Made in KC and Ludo’s at 325 E. 31st St.

“We’ve been doing pop-ups for three years now and it was time for us to have a home base and not travel so much,” said Jhy Coulter, founder and owner.

“We loved doing the events and starting to grow organically. More and more people were coming and we received a lot of love. I wanted to keep going.

“There’s room for opportunity in the pizza scene.”

Devoured Pizza specializes in what he calls neo-Neapolitan-style pizza.

“We use eclectic, fresh and simple things,” Coulter said.

Coulter said the concept calls for serving pizzas and small plates, and will be open nights although the final schedule hasn’t been determined yet. That would tie into being a place for a late bite in the bustling Martini Corner entertainment area.

“It will be a very intimate place, reminiscent of a tapa-style place. We’re striving to be high energy and bustling,” Coulter said.
