There is plenty to get into ahead of Sunday night’s playoff football showdown on GEHA Field at Arrowhead Stadium.

Friday, Jan. 14

It’s KC Restaurant Week. Carryout, delivery and dine-in options are a focus for this year’s celebration of our favorite eateries. Filter KCRW’s huge list of participating restaurants by what sounds good, dietary requirements or nearby establishments. Multi-course specialty menus will make dishes available at tiered price points, starting as low as $15. It’s the perfect reason to try that one special place on your list. KCRW runs through Jan. 23.

6 – 9 p.m. Kansas City streetwear brand MADE MOBB is launching a collaborative line with the Kansas City Chiefs. The limited-edition Chiefs apparel drops at Friday night’s Official Release Pop-Up Party, 221 Southwest Blvd., before online sales launch Saturday morning at 9 a.m.

7 – 9 p.m. There’s All About the ‘90s Trivia Night at Misc., 1447 Gentry St., and winners get a round of free drinks. Registration is open for teams of at least four and up to eight experts on the decade. Tickets are $20 per person and include your first drink of choice. You must be at least 21 years old to play along.

Saturday, Jan. 15

10 – 11:30 a.m. A limited number of spots are available for Saturday’s Winter Sowing Workshop at George Owens Nature Park, 1601 S. Speck Road, in Independence. This weekend’s workshop focuses on starting native wildflowers from seed. Those on hand will learn best practices when it comes to ensuring blooms in springtime. All materials will be provided. Everyone will go home with a seed-starting container. Pre-registration is required.

2 – 4 p.m. The day you have dreamt of as a child is here. Lightsaber Combat by Galactic Saber is coming to Redux Society, 215 Southwest Blvd. The lightsaber dueling league follows French Fencing Federation rules with sights set on elevating the sport derived from a galaxy far, far away. Fencing and martial arts instructors will play the role of knowledgeable Jedis. The class is $15.

5 – 6 p.m. Overland Park’s hOme Family Holistic Center, 7927 Floyd St., is looking out for the dads. Perfect for newcomers, Yoga for Fathers will focus on breathing, movement and meditation aimed at alleviating physical and mental stress, aligning with potential pre/post-natal classes available to new or expecting partners. The class is offered online or in person. Reserve your spot for $15.

6 – 8 p.m. Z&M Twisted Vines Wines and Winery in Leavenworth, 620 Cherokee St., is throwing a Release Party Saturday evening in celebration of its new “Sicilian Squeeze” lemon wine. The latest edition to Z&M’s Double Tapped line will be available and one lucky costume-contest winner will go home with a bottle. Dress is 1920s flapper/gangster. You must be 21 or older to attend.

Sunday, Jan. 16

11:45 a.m. Grab a seat for A Musical Tribute to the Marriage of Johnny and June Sunday at the New Theatre & Restaurant, 9229 Foster St. The dinner-theatre spot in Overland Park, Kansas, serves lunch at 12:15 p.m. and the curtain drops at 1:15 p.m. Johnny and June features the music of Johnny Cash, June Carter Cash and The Highwaymen, performed by Scott Mereau and Ashley Pankow, plus the comedy of Minnie Pearl featuring Cathy Barnett. Tickets start at $45.

1 p.m. It’s Monster Jam weekend downtown at the T-Mobile Center, 1407 Grand Blvd. Buy a family pack of earplugs and settle in for an action-packed afternoon of 12,000-pound monster trucks competing in speed and skill challenges, freestyle motocross and more as Monster Jam athletes go head-to-head for a spot in the World Finals. Tickets start at $15.

1 & 6:30 p.m. On the other end of the live entertainment spectrum, The Broadway Musical “Wicked” is showing at Kansas City Music Hall, 301 W. 13th St., through Jan. 23. The alternative story out of the Land of Oz offers a Sunday matinee at 1 p.m., followed by a Chiefs-game-conflicting performance at 6:30 p.m. There are a few tickets floating around for anyone who waited until the last minute.
