Tap List | North Kansas City’s Pub Crawl Is Back

Last year the entire world seemed to come to a halt due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Our favorite breweries quickly shifted from full taprooms to to-go beers only. But in-person live events couldn’t be salvaged.

Thankfully, that’s not the case this year.

Returning for the sixth year is North Kansas City’s Pint Path pub crawl. This year’s event will take place Saturday, Sept. 25, from noon to 5 p.m.

If you’re unfamiliar with the event, it’s essentially a choose-your-own adventure pub crawl featuring more than 20 different bars and breweries spread across North Kansas City. Attendees will receive a map of all participating locations, all of whom will be offering different specials.

Some of the destinations include Callsign Brewing, Big Rip Brewing Co., Cinder Block Brewery, and Calibration Brewery. If you’re interested in trying some beers from potential future professional brewers, you can head over to Speakeasy Tattoo, where local homebrewers will be pouring free samples of their creations.

Want a little extra help burning off some of the liquid calories while also supporting a good cause? Of course you do! New to this year’s event will be the Bike Fun Ride. For an additional $5 you can participate in this ride, which takes place at 11a.m. and allows you early access to some of the Pint Path destinations. All proceeds from the ride will go to RiverNorth KC, a nonprofit that represents the locally owned business of North Kansas City.

Beer Releases

Red Crow Brewing — 1062 W. Santa Fe St., Olathe, Kansas — is starting to bridge the gap from summer to fall with their new Sybil 21. This Bock style beer provides a nice maltiness that pairs well with crisp weather. Available both on tap and in cans.

Limitless Brewing — 9765 Widmer Road, Lenexa, Kansas — is also hopping on the fall beer trend with their new Imperial Brownie Stout, It’s All Been Done. This 10% ABV stout is slightly sweet and slightly roasty, making it the perfect chilly evening beer.

Pathlight Brewing — 11200 W. 75th St., Shawnee, Kansas — has a brand new Hazy Pale Ale called Pivot! on tap and in cans. This 5.8% ABV IPA has plenty of tropical fruit notes and that classic IPA bitterness, but not overwhelmingly so.

Transport Brewery — 11113 Johnson Drive, Shawnee, Kansas — has introduced three new limited release beers to their tap lines. Head on over to try their Hot Strawberry, a spicy strawberry radler, KAmber, an amber lager with lime, and/or El Camino, a margarita radler.

BKS Artisan Ales — 633 E. 63rd St., Kansas City, Missouri — has three new IPA releases for you this week. Repetitions on Mosaic is a DIPA that helps emphasize the qualities of the Mosaic hop varietal. Fake Birds is an IPA using mostly New Zealand hops leading to citrusy flavors of lemon, lime, and orange. Last but not least is Pacific Specific that uses multiple hop varieties grown along the Pacific Coast.

Calibration Brewery — 119 Armour Road, North Kansas City, Missouri — is jumping on the fall beer bandwagon with their new brown ale. Beast In Me is 5% ABV with those nice malty and chocolatey flavors privy to a well made brown ale.

3Halves Brewing Co. — 110 E. Kansas St., Liberty, Missouri — is feeling optimistic about the future with their new beer The Future Will Be CLEAR Again. This hazy IPA rings in at 7.9% ABV and has a range of aromas from citrusy orange to floral honeysuckle.

Beer Events

Friday, Sept. 10

Kansas City Bier Co. — 310 W. 79th St., Kansas City, Missouri — knows you’re probably upset at not being able to attend the Great American Beer Fest, so they’re bringing it to you! Swing by the brewery for a GABF Watch Party to see if any of the beers they submitted wins a medal. You’ll receive $2 off any beer of theirs that receives a medal.

Crane Brewing Co. — 6515 Railroad St., Raytown, Missouri — is helping to bring out your creative side with a night of pottery making. Their Pottery Pub event includes your choice of pottery, instructions and materials for glazing your piece, and of course a free beer. Limited space is available so reserve your spot early.

Saturday, Sept. 11

Cinder Block Brewery — 110 E. 18th Ave., North Kansas City, Missouri — is hosting Puppy Yoga on their patio. Cost of the event is $35 and includes the yoga session, a free beer and unlimited pets and snuggles from any of the puppies available for adoption. Proceeds go to the Unleashed pet shelter.

Outfield Beer Co. — 10953 Kaw Drive, Edwardsville, Kansas — wants you to come drink their beer at the Beer & Art Festival in Bashor, Kansas. They’ll be one of two breweries pouring at the event. Grab a drink, walk around, and enjoy the local art!

3 Trails Brewing Co. — 111 N. Main St., Independence, Missouri — will be pouring their delicious beers at the Independence Uncorked Festival. While it may mostly be wine, 3 Trails will be providing a nice break from the vino with their suds. Proceeds from the event help benefit various local and national charities.

Sunday, Sept. 12

Fields & Ivy Brewery — 706 E. 23rd St., Lawrence, Kansas — continues their Sunday yoga series with Megan Feighny Yoga. This one-hour yoga session includes one free beer with the purchase of your ticket. While the event will take place outside, space is limited so head to Megan’s website to confirm your attendance today.
