Tap List | KC Brewers Make Like Mad Scientists With Experimental Beers
August 31, 2021 | | 1 min read
Do you ever wonder what it would be like to stray from the beers you typically drink? Do you ever ponder whether to bring some real shock and awe to your taste buds?
Cassie Niemeyer, Flatland’s beer enthusiast, is here to do it for you. She’s tasting and reviewing three local experimental brews.
These concoctions go well beyond conventional beer wisdom, and won’t be found at most breweries. They are made with unique ingredients, in small batches, and because of that typically cost a little more.
Fortunately, Kansas City is blessed with breweries that like to take chances. Here are the ones we’re testing today:
- Sandhill’s Brewing’s Sandpiper with pawpaw (5.6%)
- Torn Label Brewing Co.’s Experimental Lambic (7.2%)
- Big Rip Brewing Co.’s Fire Tree (GF) (7%)
We all need to shake things up now and again. Check out the experimental beers in the attached video.
