If you’ve been diligently self isolating with the rest of us, then it just might be time to emerge (responsibly) from your social distancing cocoon! 

As mentioned last week, a number of breweries in the Kansas City area are reopening their taprooms and dining areas at limited capacities. From Tuesday to Saturday, East Forty Brewing — 1201 W. Main St., Blue Springs, Missouri — will be celebrating its second journey around the sun with daily draft releases, food specials and live entertainment. On Saturday, the brewery will be hosting live music by Blake Gardner.

Beer Releases

Apex Aleworks — 4356 S. Noland Road, Independence, Missouri — released another collaborative beer with Brad Steele called celebratioN pilZ, a New Zealand Style Pilsner (4.9% ABV). The beer will be available on tap in the beginning of July.

3 Trails Brewing Co. — 111 N. Main St., Independence, Missouri — has released Global Disturbance (6% ABV, 20 IBU), a dry-hopped hazy IPA with notes of tropical fruit and melon.

Alma Mader Brewing — 2635 Southwest Blvd., Kansas City, Missouri — only has a few crowlers left of Keller Helles (5% ABV), a Helles-style lager that boasts of honeysuckle and bread. They are also on their final batch of Nothing To Hide (Galaxy), a Hazy Pale Ale clocking in at 5.6% ABV. 

Rochester Brewing and Roasting Co. — 2129 Washington St., Kansas City, Missouri — is releasing the first of a new series of coffee ales called Coffea Arabica Ale (6.4% ABV). This delightful ale is brewed with Ethiopian single origin coffee beans!

Strange Days Brewing Co. — 316 Oak St., Kansas City, Missouri — is offering your very own Mole Dulce Float kit, which features Betty Rae’s ice cream made with our Mole Dulce Stout. Kits include a pint of Betty Rae’s Mole Dulce ice cream, two cans of Mole Dulce Stout, one can of River Quay Dry Stout and one can of Opa’s Shifty Helles Bock.

Limitless Brewing — 9765 Widmer Road, Lenexa, Kansas — is now selling four-packs of Poker Face: Close My Eyes, a key lime and lemon cheesecake sour. Yes, you read that right. Key lime. Lemon cheesecake. And yes, I’m salivating as I’m writing this. 

Torn Label Brewing Co. — 1708 Campbell St., Kansas City, Missouri — is selling four-packs of their Golden Garden Grisette, a Belgian style ale clocking in at 4.9% ABV. This floral delight has notes of spice, graham crackers and lemon zest.

Double Shift Brewing Co. — 412 E 18th St., Kansas City, Missouri — has released Nevertheless, She Brewed, a dry-hopped sour with notes of lime, mango and passionfruit. This sour will be made available in four-packs and draft. Some of the proceeds will go to the Pink Boots Society in Kansas City.

Beer Events

As we mentioned last week, the Kansas City beer giant is slowly emerging from its slumber, meaning that breweries are opening up across the metro. I’m happy to report that the same is true this week!

Henry T’s — 3520 W. 6th St., Lawrence, Kansas — home of Yankee Tank Brewing Co., is conducting an experiment, and you’re a part of it! This week Henry T’s will be opening its doors for dining services.

3Halves Brewing Co. — 110 E. Kansas St., Liberty, Missouri — is reopening the dining area and patios starting today.

Rockcreek Brewing Co. — 5880 Beverly Ave. Mission, Kansas — has also reopened it’s taprooms! 

Casual Animal Brewing Co. — 1725 McGee St., Kansas City, Missouri — has also reopened at a limited capacity!

Saturday, June 13

Grab your lawn chair, your hand sanitizer and your masks, because this Saturday Limitless Brewing — 9765 Widmer Road, Lenexa, Kansas — is hosting the Old No. 5’s from 7-9 p.m. The Melt food truck will also be slinging cheese melts from 5-8 p.m.

Apex Aleworks — 4356 S. Noland Road, Independence, Missouri — is also hosting live music this Saturday from 7:30-9:30 p.m. If you’re into country and blues, then you do not want to miss Jessica Carter’s performance!

From 4-7 p.m., Border Brewing Co. — 406 E 18th St., Kansas City, Missouri — is hosting a Sporting KC watch party. Wear your Sporting KC gear and get a dollar off every pour!
