Tap List | Do KC Yard Beers Outdo the Classics? (Blind Taste Test)

So, what’s a yard beer? Put simply, American-style lagers, ones that are great to drink in our midwestern-sized yards.
Here are the crucial questions Tap List beer enthusiast Cassie Niemeyer asks before judging yard beers: Is it crushable? Is it satisfying after a hard day’s work? Does it taste like an American lager should?
We reckoned it was reasonable to compare national and local yard beers because sometimes you’ve just got to run into a gas station and grab some on your way to a friend’s backyard hangout.
We’ve got four rather than the usual three beers on the old Tap List today. Consider it a little Fourth of July special.
- Double Shift Brewing Co.’s Yard Beer (4.5%)
- Hamm’s Premium Beer (4.7%)
- Miller High Life (4.6%)
- Cinder Block Brewery’s Real Fine Liquid (4%)
