Downtown Dazzle is wrapping up its fifth consecutive year of connecting guests to all of the holiday fun throughout downtown’s vibrant neighborhoods and districts.
After handing out nearly 5,000 Dazzling Deals Booklets (all free) with more than 80 special offers from downtown businesses, hosting five pop-up events at various downtown locations, and showing off all of the holiday festivities Downtown Kansas City has to offer, we close the year with some of recommendations of the best New Year’s Eve events downtown has to offer.
New Year’s Swinging Eve at Union Station
Union Station is taking it back to the roaring 20’s with swing dancing and live jazz to celebrate the new year, featuring a performance by award-winning Dave Stephens and the Kansas City Jazz Orchestra 7 in Union Station’s Grand Hall.
Tickets to this hot event will get you unlimited drinks, hot appetizers and snacks all night, and party favors. You’ll also get to count down to 2019 in “Times Square style” with a midnight ball drop and of course, a champagne toast.
New Year’s Eve at Crossroads Hotel
The new Crossroads Hotel is rolling out the red carpet to usher in 2019. The hotel is showing off its space by hosting a unique New Year’s event complete with aerial performances by Quixotic, four open bars and craft cocktails and unlimited small bites.
And Kansas City master balloon artist (and Instagram starlet), Molly Balloons, will unveil a spectacular balloon drop! Because it’s not New Year’s without champagne, Moet & Chandon will be offering the “ultimate champagne experience” to top off the night.
NYE Live! 2018
In the heart of downtown, the Kansas City Power and Light District’s Live! Block has been hosting a massive New Year’s Eve party for over a decade. Multiple ticket packages are available, but go all out with the Gold Package which includes access to all 14 entertainment venues, unlimited drinks, a post-midnight food voucher, party favors, and a champagne toast. The event will also feature live music and a midnight ball drop.
New Year’s Eve at the Temple IX
New Year’s Eve at the Temple IX is planning to sell out for its ninth year in a row by hosting the largest indoor New Year’s Eve party in KC. And we can see why. This huge NYE bash, hosted at the Scottish Rite Temple, is featuring ten open bars, five deejays, eight party areas, food options, and party favors all spread between four floors of the temple. Gentlemen – make sure to abide by the enforced dress code, which is business casual.
Making Movies – New Year’s Eve at The Truman
Looking for something a little more low-key to celebrate the new year? The Truman is welcoming people of all ages to celebrate 2019 with psychedelic lights and performances by Calvin Arsenia, Reptil and the headliner, Making Movies. If you are of age, tickets will also get you a complimentary champagne toast.
