Pop-Ups OnDelaware Debuts Saturday, Event to Highlight Street

Pop-Ups OnDelaware, a new monthly weekend event, debuts Saturday with the goal of attracting shoppers for unique goods to the historic street in the heart of the River Market.
“We were looking for ways to bring excitement and a sense of community to the street,” said Estrella Luttrell, an organizer and participant.
“We want to create a showcase for people to showcase themselves and their work.”
The event will be held behind the River Market West streetcar stop near the Tribe restaurant patio Saturday and Sunday from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Luttrell said Denver developer Craig Slawson, who purchased several buildings on the west side of Delaware and has landed new tenants including Tribe, Betty Rae’s Ice Cream and a planned Made in KC, wants OnDelaware to add excitement to the block.
The first Pop-Ups has attracted three participants: Luttrell, who is a photographer, writer and maker of small home goods; Sagii International, a firm specializing in athletic leisure wear and sunglasses, and artist Jennifer Roberts of Late Blooming Watercolors.
As the monthly event grows, organizers hope to attract more vendors. A fashion show featuring downtown designers is scheduled for Sept. 26 as well.
The plan calls for Pop-Ups OnDelaware to be held the second weekend of each month through October.
