Puttery Starts Putt-Putt Play on Plaza

The Puttery, an upscale miniature golf concept out of Dallas, is opening Thursday (Sept. 14) in the Country Club Plaza, adding an adult-only entertainment destination to the mix of tenants.
“The Plaza is well known for its retail and dining, but we’ve found that Millennials prefer experiences over purchasing items,” said JW Fisher, manager of The Puttery.
“We are an upscale, craft cocktail lounge featuring three, themed miniature golf putt-putt courses and a chef-inspired craft kitchen.”
The Puttery occupies two levels in the former Jack Henry building at 4641 Jefferson. It’s the second major tenant in the building that was renovated by Drake Development. A Chiefs Fit health club occupies the upper floors.
The Puttery offers craft cocktails and food along with putting.
The new venue features three, nine-hole courses each designed with a different theme including pop art and other whimsical concepts. There’s also spacious bar and lounge areas for relaxing with a drink and food.
It’s a 21 and over only place so players can walk the courses with their cocktails. No food is allowed on the greens, though.
The kitchen features appetizers including a charcuterie board, sliders, wings and edamame; salads, pizzas and entrees such as Pasta Primavera, Poke Bowl, hamburgers and a Banh Mi sandwich.
Fisher said the best way to reserve a tee time is to go online, although walk-ins are welcome. Putters are furnished although golfers are welcome to bring their own favorite with them.
An NYC themed hole is part of the mix.
The Puttery is open Mondays through Thursdays from 4 p.m. to midnight; Fridays from noon to 1 a.m.; Saturdays from 11 a.m. to 1 a.m., and Sundays from 11 a.m. to midnight.
On Mondays through Thursdays, you can enjoy unlimited playing on all three courses for $25 or $18 for one round on one of the courses. Weekends it costs $18 to play a round on one course or $27 to play rounds on two of the courses.
Fisher said there are digital scoreboards that track the daily leaders, not only for low scores but holes in one.
“It’s perfect for corporate events and tournaments,” he said.
The new venue will employ 120 people and is still hiring.
While The Puttery is the first round of new entertainment offerings on the Plaza, The Escape Game is scheduled to open Sept. 22 at 320 Ward Parkway. The Nashville-based concept “casts guests as heroes in story-driven missions.”
