If you are like many folks, if something breaks in your house, you have to call someone to fix it. It could be a broken pipe, faulty light switch, or wheezing furnace.
That means there are good, steady jobs available for people with the “fix-it” attitude and aptitude. Plus, with a lot these tradesmen reaching retirement age, there is a real need for a new generation of skilled workers.
That’s where the Kansas City Construction Career Academy comes in. It’s a collaboration between Metropolitan Career College, North Kansas City Schools, and JE Dunn Construction.
Other career academies available through MCC are
- Business & Technology
- CIMM – Computer Integrated Machining and Manufacturing
- ETEC – Engineering Technology and CADD
- INTE – Industrial Technology and Automation
- HVAC – Heating Ventilation and Air Conditioning
- CSIS – Computer Science and Information Systems
These programs are free through their high schools for students from the North Kansas City, Independence, Hickman Mills, and Liberty school districts, but they are open to any area student.
