curiousKC | Be Part of How We Report on Housing and Homelessness

October 4, 2021  |  Vicky Diaz-Camacho  |  2 min read

Over the past year, Flatland’s team of journalists have been hard at work reporting on topics related to affordable housing, public housing, social services and homelessness.

The COVID-19 pandemic accentuated these preexisting problems and even more vulnerable people were left to fend for themselves.

We continue to cover what local leaders plan to do and what the community would like to know. We are also tracking various programs’ successes and failures.

Flatland’s history reporting on the housing crisis is nothing new, but new conversations emerge almost daily. So, this is our call out to the community:

We want to hear from you. What’s missing from the conversation? What questions do you think could be investigated about the topic of housing and homelessness that have been forgotten or overlooked?

Your voice is important and welcome. That is what curiousKC is for – to consider what our community is wondering about and try to find the answers.

Note: Your submissions could be part of our new Kansas City PBS current affairs program, the Flatland show, which hones in on one topic per month. Our journalists dig deep to report on this topic throughout the month and, afterward, Flatland show host D. Rashaan Gilmore brings together a panel to discuss the issue for fresh takes and new insights.
