KC Performs | Musical Theater Heritage Belts Out ‘Santa Fe’

Musical Theater Heritage has been staging great musicals at a 250-seat theater in Crown Center since 2008.
So what could they do when the theater went dark due to the pandemic? Get nimble with streaming.
“We had to figure out a different way to give our product to our audience, our ticket holders, and to keep our local artists employed,” says Tim Scott, executive artistic director. “Fortunately, we’ve been successful and people seem to like what we’ve been doing.”
Watch the attached video for a taste, as Noah Lindquist belts out “Santa Fe,” a song from the Disney musical “Newsies.” This is part of “KC Performs,” a new show on Kansas City PBS that offered a televised stage for local performing artists whose usual venues have been darkened as a result of the pandemic.
