It’s time to welcome summer in properly with Float — a new family-friendly festival from Flatland and the Recommended Daily. At Float, you’ll get to sample innovative drink pairings featuring Kansas City Bier Co. brews, Second Best Coffee or soda with Betty Rae’s Ice Cream. The outdoor event — it’s rain or shine — will be in the biergarten at KC Bier Co. (310 W. 79th St.) on Saturday, June 25, from 1 to 4 p.m.

With each admission ($15), you’ll get your very own plastic souvenir float mug along with three sampling tickets. With the help of our Waldo partners, we’ve put together a delicious list of unique combos. Here’s a peek at the menu we’ll have that day.

Soda Floats: Ginger ale with lavender honey ice cream, root beer with vanilla ice cream, cream soda with root beer ice cream or strawberry soda with peanut butter ice cream.

Coffee Floats: Second Best Nitro cold brew coffee (read more about it here) with blueberry ice cream or cinnamon ice cream.

Beer Floats: KC Bier Co.’s Hefeweizen with peanut butter ice cream, Dunkel with creme brulee caramel, Maibock with chocolate ice cream or Helles with blueberry ice cream.

Best of all, you get to decide how you float. Do you drop in the ice cream and let it slowly meld with your drink of choice? Do you mix it all up and make each sip the same? Come experience a fun twist on a summer classic with Float.

Get your tickets here ($15 each or a family four-pack for $50).
