HCA Midwest Health System announced Tuesday the appointment of Jacqueline R. DeSouza as CEO of Research Medical Center, a 490-bed hospital in Kansas City, Mo.
Her appointment takes effect Feb. 10. She is currently CEO of Lee’s Summit Medical Center, another HCA Hospital.
DeSouza succeeds Kevin Hicks, who left recently to become CEO of HCA’s hospital in Overland Park.
DeSouza has been with HCA since 2000. Her appointments in Kansas City have included chief operating officer at Overland Park Regional Medical Center and chief operating officer at Research.
She holds a bachelor’s of science degree in health services administration from James Madison University and a master’s degree in health administration from Virginia Commonwealth University.
