We can’t all afford an island vacation, but you can have a moment when you feel like you’re gazing out at the ocean with an umbrella drink in your hand. TikiCat, the tiki cocktail lounge in the basement of HopCat, celebrates its second anniversary from 2 p.m. to 1 a.m. on Saturday. They’ll have commemorative tiki mugs. Get anything with rum and you should be just fine.
Call this a TSA: Twinkie Service Announcement. Blip Coffee Roasters is serving house-made Twinkies. The golden ovals are light, cream-filled and eight big bites of nostalgia. The pastries are available at both of Blip’s locations, but they tend to sell out.
Percheron, the rooftop bar with a bocce court at the Crossroads Hotel (2101 Central St.), opens today a 11 a.m. Percheron. You can do rooftop yoga at 10 a.m. Saturday. It’s BYOM (bring your own mat) and $5 donation to Girls on The Run is suggested. You can celebrate Cinco de Mayo Sunday with elotes (roasted corn), walking tacos or a michelada (modelo especial with Bloody Mary mix).
Eat your way across Liberty, Missouri, with the Downtown Foodie Tour from 10 a.m. to noon Saturday. The tour ($10), put on by Historic Downtown Liberty, Inc., will stop by Ginger Sue’s, Hammerhand Coffee, Sorella’s Deli (get the muffaletta, if you can) and MudHole BBQ.
The sixth annual Kansas Food Truck Festival is from 4 to 10 p.m. Saturday in the Warehouse Arts District (9th and Pennsylvania) in Lawrence, Kansas. Try food from more than two dozen food trucks while enjoying live music and cocktails. Admission is $10 (children under 12 years old get in free) and benefits Just Food, a food bank in Douglas County.
Char Bar is throwing a Star Wars-Kentucky Derby mash-up party from 2 to 7 p.m. Saturday. Dress in either “Star Wars” or Derby attire and drink mint juleps or blue milkshakes. There’s a $10 admission fee, which benefits the National Multiple Sclerosis Society.
Wanderfest comes to 31st Street from noon to 10 p.m. Sunday. Visit the shops along the street, catch live performances, a bounce house and face painting outside El Torreon and dine at a pop-up food truck plaza (featuring Tin Pan Cinnamon Rolls and Cheesy Street).
