Artists in Residence: Jennifer Janesko Embraces the ‘Pause’

May 7, 2020  |    |  1 min read

Jennifer Janesko really is an artist in residence — she works in her basement studio even in normal times.

These, of course, aren’t normal times. Even so, Janesko says the “pause” has allowed her to set aside typical business distractions and focus even more on her art. Her work, she says, normally “toggles” between abstract and the figurative approaches, though the two seem to be blending more at the moment.

When the pandemic passes, Janesko plans to be ready for her clients with plenty of new work to market. Until then, though, she has a few words of encouragement for fellow creatives.

“Artists… What they do is they’re creative,” Janesko says. “That’s their game. So this is their time to shine. Figure out how to change the way you do things.”
