The Kansas City Star’s latest season of Food Truck Friday kicks off from 5 to 9 p.m. tonight in the parking lot at 1729 Grand Boulevard. Dig in at Wilma’s, Crave of KC, El Tenedor, Cirque du Sucre, and KC Pinoy (see Flatland’s piece from last April on the Filipino cuisine truck here).

Crowncade (2631 NE Vivion Road) opened this week below the Crown Point Tavern. The bar arcade has six pinball machines, more than 20 arcade games, and a projector hooked up to a Nintendo 64. Happy gaming.

How about a pick me up and a chill you out? Parisi and Tom’s Town Distilling Co. have collaborated on a whiskey barrel-conditioned coffee. On Saturday from 3 to 6 p.m., Parisi will be sampling the new coffee and Tom’s Town will be sampling their bourbon and bourbon cocktails in Parisi’s Union Station cafe (30 W Pershing Road).

The Corvino Supper Club and Tasting Room (1828 Walnut Street) opened this week. The supper club seats 80 people and will feature live music alongside shared plates. If you’re there late night, opt for the burger. The Tasting Room, slated to open May 9, is a more intimate experience with a set menu and the opportunity to watch chef/co-owner Michael Corvino at work.

Party with your dog this weekend at a welcome party for the NY Dog Film Festival. The Pooch Party, hosted by Bayer and K9 Advantix II, will include a green carpet for photos, cocktails, and doggy swag bags. The party is Saturday from 4 to 6 p.m. at the Sheraton Country Club Plaza (770 W 47th Street). Tickets are $50 and must be purchased in advance. A portion of the proceeds benefit the KC Pet Project.

Kegs ‘n’ Eggs Kansas City, featured in #TapList, returns to The Kansas City Renaissance Festival (628 N 126th Street, Bonner Springs, Kansas) on Saturday at 1 p.m. The combined adult Easter egg hunt and craft beer festival includes thousands of hidden Easter eggs filled with prizes, more than 50 craft breweries, 10 food trucks, a live band, and more than 10 craft vendors. Tickets are $45 ($55 on the day of the event).

Want to check out local eats? The Local Food Celebration, put on by Shatto Home Delivery (the delivery arm of the Shatto Milk Company), is Sunday from 1 to 4 p.m. at the Overland Park Convention Center (6000 College Boulevard, Overland Park, Kansas). They’ll be sampling local goods and talking about the return of the milkman. Sluggerrr will be there between 2 and 3 p.m.
