Estate planning is not just for the wealthy.

Watch the attached video as Jamie Bosse, a certified financial planner and member of Kansas City’s Financial Planning Association, walks you through some key tips and shares resources to ensure your estate plan will support your needs as you age.

Key documents you should have in place include a health care power of attorney, a durable power of attorney, a will, or a health care directive (living will). Some people may also consider creating a trust. Bosse also shares helpful resources to create key estate planning documents on your own or how to find a reputable estate planning attorney.

This video is part of “Age-Old Questions,” a collaborative project by Kansas City PBS and Flatland, addressing critical issues for families with aging members. For more retirement planning guidance, visit the KCPBS website, where you’ll find additional resources and insightful reporting on the evolving landscape of aging.

Jamie Bosse (CFP) is a certified financial planner with Aspyre Wealth Partners and a board member of the Greater Kansas City chapter of the Financial Planning Association. John McGrath of Kansas City PBS produced the video.

This video series was made possible with support from the William T. Kemper Foundation, Commerce Bank Trustee, Husch Blackwell and through a partnership with the Financial Planning Association of Kansas City.
