Amigoni’s Fifth Anniversary & Other Weekend Possibilities

Amigoni Vineyards and Urban Winery (1505 Genessee St.) is celebrating its fifth anniversary with a party from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. on Saturday. They’ll stretch their patio out in the parking lot so you can sip outside and taste their anniversary release: Telegram 5. Named for the Daily Drovers Telegram building where they are located, it is a blend of Cabernet Sauvignon, Cinsaut and Petit Verdot, that has been aged in Missouri oak barrels for one year. They’ll have yard games, live music and food trucks on site.

The sixth annual Westport Block Party kicks off at 8 p.m. Sunday and goes all the way until 2 a.m. Monday. Lost Wax is playing at the party hosted by McCoy’s Public House and Kelly’s Westport Inn. Tickets are $10, which includes a beer from the outdoor bar and a koozie.

Fire up your lightsabers, Popcorn in the Park is here. The city of Liberty, Missouri, is showing “Rogue One: A Star Wars Story” from 8:30 to 11 p.m. Friday night at Stocksdale Park (901 S. La Frenz Road, Liberty, Missouri). They’ll have popcorn and water for the first 500 people at the free screening. It’s bring your own blanket or lawn chair, but don’t bring alcohol — it’s not allowed in the park.

The KC Urban Book Expo is from noon to 4 p.m. on Saturday at the Gregg Klice Community Center (1600 John Buck O’Neil Way). Meet local authors and grab lunch from food trucks out front.

It’s not often you get a book signing and open bar in the same evening. But Smoke N’ Fire (8030 W. 151st St., Overland Park, Kansas) is hosting a book release party for Judith Fertig and Karen Adler’s latest title: “Red, White and ‘Que: Farm-Fresh Foods for the American Grill.” A $25 ticket gets you a copy of the book, smoked appetizers from Fertig and Adler, as well as cocktails. The event is from 5 to 7 p.m. tonight.

Find inner peace among whiskey barrels with distillery yoga. YogaRama is leading a 60-minute yoga class at J. Rieger & Co. (2700 Guinotte Ave.) at 11 a.m. on Sunday. They ask you to bring your own mat and a $5 to $10 donation.

After being closed for nearly 10 months of remodeling, El Purgacito (5921 Merriam Drive, Merriam, Kansas) has reopened. Get a papusa, a griddled masa cake, and top it with plenty of curtido, a spicy slaw that will clear our your sinuses. The Salvadoran restaurant also has tamales, fried plantains and empanadas.
