Wednesday July 10, 2013, 1 Million Cups, the entrepreneurial pitch program created by the Ewing Marion Kauffman Foundation meets for weekly coffee at 9 am. The caffeinated morning event engages Kansas City’s entrepreneurs to be supportive, mentor, learn, and connect the community. This week, 1 Million Cups is featuring two start-ups with two conventional trades but both have a twist or two in their business model.
The first group to present is Autoswaprz.com, an online automotive marketplace that provides a better way to do online car deals. From scratch they have developed a marketplace that offers better navigation, innovative features, and a clutter-free layout. Autoswaprz has built its company from zero web listings to 14,000 listings in under one year. The automobile sales industry putting consumers first? There must be a catch? Well there is not a catch, Autoswaprz wants to help the consumer and that is why it is free to use for individuals.
Following is Tax Hero (tax-hero.com) and they have a very experienced founding team. They are offering a service that makes taxes, auditing, and accounting much easier for small businesses. They offer a mobile app for daily use that securely transmits receipts into your personal computer file. Thus, eliminating much of the tax day panic and increasing your tax returns. For a small fee of $89 a month, Tax Hero wants to use their technology and expertise to be a hero to small businesses.
